The application process
Review the Application Requirements and ensure you understand the components of the application.
1. Apply online
Complete the online application and pay the application fee
- A non-refundable $151.25 CAD application fee (MasterCard or Visa only) must be paid for your application to be processed.
- Start the online application process here. While working on your application, you can save your changes and revisit it until you are ready to pay the fee and submit the application.
- You may complete your online application anytime before the final application deadline.
Note: If you have applied last year, you will need to create a new application with a new email address. Logging back into the application system with your last email address will bring up outdated application information, and your application will not be reviewed for this year's cycle.
Keep records of your application
- After applying, a confirmation letter is emailed to you after you click “Submit this Application” at the end of the process.
*Please save this email for your records - You may check the current status of your application online by logging back in. your current application status will appear at the top of the first page after you enter your email address and password.
2. Submit documentation
Applications are not reviewed by the admissions committee until all of the following required supporting documentation is received in official form. To expedite the admissions process, students can scan and upload their unofficial documents for evaluation. However, official documentation will be required for final admission and it must be received by the document deadline.

The final document deadline for November 2022 entry is October 20, 2022.
- Official transcripts in sealed university envelopes (plus official English translations if transcripts are not issued in English by the home university). UBC graduates do not need to submit UBC transcripts as the Robert H. Lee Graduate School will access these through the Student Information System Centre (SISC)
- Original degree certificates in sealed university envelopes (plus English translations if certificates are not issued in English by the home university)
- Official TOEFL (program code: 0965) or IELTS (no code required - please send to UBC) scores. Official test scores should be received by UBC directly from the testing agency
- Official GMAT (program code: LQS-CP-94) scores. Official test scores should be received by UBC directly from the testing agency. GMAT may be waived for those applicants with considerable quantitative academic backgrounds
Important note regarding documents
All submitted application materials, including irreplaceable documents, become the property of the UBC Sauder School of Business and will not be returned. Applications received or completed after the deadlines will be considered only if space is available.
If you have applied to our programs within the last two years, it is not necessary to submit new letters of reference and new transcripts unless you have undertaken further academic studies, as we retain all documentation for a two-year period.
3. Await results
Applications will be be carefully evaluated by the admissions committee.
- Evaluation will be based on academic records, Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores, full-time work experience, essays, & letters of recommendation.
- All applicants being seriously considered for admission will be contacted by the Robert H. Lee Graduate School for an interview either in person or by Skype or phone.
- Upon receipt of an offer of admission, you must submit a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit in Canadian currency, which is credited towards your tuition.
